About Tina Conran-Rothwell

Early in her career as a contemporary artist Tina Conran-Rothwell started to look at ways to incorporate mixed media in her work. She was insistent on using fabric, paper and paint in her compositions.Rothwell studied the elements of photography and fine art in college, which would take her to the technical aspects she so enjoys. Layers upon layers and the element of mixed media was going to be the foundation for her work.
The contemporary work of T. Conran-Rothwell fits into the category of New Contemporary American painting, with qualities of the traditional. The work will provoke frequent thoughts to the world of mixed media with a simplistic manner to them.
Beginning in 2000, Rothwell’s work began to simplify in subject matter, almost giving the viewer an existenialistic feel upon viewing her pieces. Each painting is very personal for the artist as she gets very attached to each piece. Rothwell depicts her subject matter according to what is going on in her daily life at the time, then the story begins. The underlying subject serves as the emotional connection to her, with a very clear and concise intention.
Rothwell is very capable of exceptional execution which she uses to convey her vision of things that surround her and move her, at that moment.
